Just go and introducing a new AMA feature
Introducing the new Ask Me Anything (AMA) feature and a little bit of Friday inspiration to start the weekend off right.
It’s always good to start off a Friday with a little bit of inspiration.
Most words of wisdom are simply gentle reminders of things you already know, and this is no different. The human mind is capable of processing billions of inputs instantly and letting you react fast enough to hit a 100mph fastball, yet can be tricked into doing things by a poster of a cat hanging from a tree. What a weird creation it is, and thus we are. Whoever designed us really must have a great sense of humor.
I don’t have a cat poster handy so my advice is simple. Just go do it.
Just go on that adventure, or to that ballgame, or to the park. Quit telling yourself you are too busy, or the weather is too bad, or that the lines will be too long. In all the spontaneous trips/adventures I have gone on (my family loves my random ideas), nearly all have been worth it. They all create memories and, for a few moments, allow you to be in another place, even if that place is your backyard. And don’t give me that nonsense about you being too busy because you have been telling me that for 30 years. If you have been that busy for 30 years and this is all you have done, you just as soon leave anyway. (I’m talking to you Mr. Mirror Man). Just go do it.
If you are thinking of a new career, a new investment, going back to school, or even starting to exercise, Just Go. Sure, you can sit there and come up with all sorts of reasons to stay, but they are all crap. You know it, I know it. The world knows it. Just go do it.
If you have kids, this is of utmost importance. No matter the road trip, the quirky restaurant, the wasted-trip-to-the-pond, or the late nights watching Gilmore Girls, every single thing you do with your kids is a memory and when they get older, those memories fade. You have to keep making them over, and over, and over again. Your future self with thank you. Just go do it.
I honestly cannot say what it’s like to be on your death bed, but it’s hard to imagine that anyone is sitting there regretting not doing something.
Next week, I am going to launch AMA (Ask Me Anything) for my newsletter and I want to hear from you. If you have a topic, or a question, that you would like me to help with, let me know and I’ll make that a topic of an article. Most of my questions are related to business, investing, technology, parenting, life but virtually nothing is off-limits and no amount of them is too many. Feel free to forward or share this to your friends.
The first question “What do I invest $500K in today” comes directly to me from LinkedIn and I will address that in next Friday’s edit. Stay tuned!!!
Next year, I’m going to launch some exciting new things but for now, simply reply to any article and let me know what’s been on our mind.
Note: I was actually born in a town called Ama, LA so in a way, I think I was estimated to start a feature called AMA.
